Picked up with the club’s final pick in the AFLW Supplementary Draft, young ruck/defender Georgie Jaques joined the Power from SANFLW club Norwood. Playing mainly as a ruck at the state league level, Jaques can also play in the backline – with her height and impressive football IQ allowing her to play a key defender role if called upon.
Jaques unfortunately suffered an ACL injury toward the back end of the season, dashing her hopes of an AFLW debut in 2023. She will spend time recovering and rehabilitating her injury, with the aim to break into the side in the 2024 season.
Port Adelaide is in her blood, with her father Danny Jaques playing 28 games for the Magpies and winning a SANFL premiership in 1998.

The Port Adelaide Football Club acknowledges the land on which we train and play, are based on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
