A clever defender who is skilful by foot, Alex Ballard joined Port Adelaide after a successful stint in state league football. Debuting in 2022, Ballard impressed in Port Adelaide's first AFLW match and hasn’t look back. She enjoyed a productive season in Port Adelaide colours, making a name for herself across the defensive lines.
With a number of senior games now under her belt, Ballard looks to build her craft and solidify herself in the side's defensive half.
Ballard started playing football at just 11 years old and comes from a football-rich family, with her brother Charlie a skilled defender for the Gold Coast Suns. After 16 AFLW games, Ballard was not offered a contract ahead of the 2025 season - bringing her three-year stint at Port Adelaide to a close.

The Port Adelaide Football Club acknowledges the land on which we train and play, are based on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
