PORT Adelaide assistant coach Adam Kingsley has advised the club he has accepted a position as an assistant at St Kilda.

Kingsley has held the defensive coaching post at Port Adelaide since retiring as a player at the end of 2006.

A member of the Club’s inaugural AFL list, Kingsley played 170 AFL games for Port Adelaide including the 2004 AFL Premiership. Kingsley won the Power’s 1998 best and fairest award, the Michael Tuck medal as best player in the 2001 Pre-season Premiership and was awarded life membership of the Club in 2006.

Port Adelaide Football Club chief executive Mark Haysman says Kingsley has provided great service to the club as both a player and an assistant coach.

“Adam has been a terrific servant of the Port Adelaide Football Club since being part of our inaugural AFL list,” Haysman said.

“He’s a Premiership player and a life member and is always welcome at our Club.

“We thank Adam for his contribution as a player and assistant coach and wish him and his family all the very best in his new role at St Kilda.”

The Club expects to finalise its senior coaching staff by the end of next week.
