THE POWER could not capitalise on what was considered a favourable draw in 2009 but will be given every opportunity to return to the eight again next year.
Port Adelaide will meet only two of this season’s finalists, St Kilda and Adelaide, twice and for the first time in club history won’t play back-to-back games away from AAMI Stadium.
The Power will however make trips to Melbourne and Perth either side of the split round.
The club will start 2010 where it left off in '09 at AAMI Stadium against North Melbourne.
Port Adelaide will play four of its opening six games at home and will leave the confines of AAMI Stadium just twice more in the last six rounds.
The players will pack their bags for two trips to Perth and one to Skilled Stadium, but will bypass NSW, Queensland and Tasmania.
The Power will be given a chance to build on their Darwin following with two away games at TIO Stadium (Melbourne in round nine and the Western Bulldogs in round 16).
Prior to taking on the Dogs in Darwin, Port Adelaide will host preliminary finalists Collingwood in a Friday night blockbuster at AAMI Stadium.
The round 15 clash is Port Adelaide’s only Friday night fixture for the season but the club will play seven games in the popular Saturday night timeslot, including four at home.
The Power will continue to be Fox Sports regulars in 2010 with the Pay TV network scheduled to broadcast 15 of their 21 confirmed games.
Road-friendly 2010 draw for Power
For the first time, Port Adelaide will not have back-to-back travel assignments in 2010
