Dan Houston has taken out the fans’ vote as best on ground against Brisbane on Saturday night.
It was a hard-fought contest at the Gabba with the Power unable to suppress a late Lions comeback, resulting in an 11-point loss.
Dan Houston, however, was influential around the ground finishing with a career-high 36 disposals and two goals.
Having been entrenched in the half-back line in previous seasons, Houston enjoyed more time on the wing and delivered impressive early form.
He takes the early lead on the Fans MG MVP leader board, bagging the maximum five points for being voted the best on field.
Travis Boak finished runner-up in the fans vote with 32 disposals and seven clearances.
He also managed to add to the scoreboard, kicking the side’s first goal of the game to find a break in the first quarter stalemate.
Rounding out the votes this week was Karl Amon (3rd), Lachie Jones (4th) and Zak Butters (5th).
The Power will play at home for the first time in 2022 in a Saturday night clash against the Hawks.
Round 1 MG MVP votes:
- Houston (5 points)
- Boak (4 points)
- Amon (3 points)
- Jones (2 points)
