MIDFIELDER Travis Boak has maintained his record of polling votes from the coaches in every game so far this season despite Port Adelaide’s winless start to the year.

Boak – who finished third overall in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award in 2020 – polled three votes from the Showdown LI coaches after Friday night’s game.

The 33-year-old finished the match with 28 disposals along with 10 clearances and showed he was also willing to get his hands dirty with eight tackles.

The coaches gave Boak’s teammate Todd Marshall eight votes for his career-high five-goal performance but the rest of the votes went to Adelaide players.

Showdown Medallist Jordan Dawson got the perfect 10 votes for his after-the-siren goal kicking heroics while four-goal forwards Elliot Himmelberg (four votes) and Lachie Gollant (one vote) also polled, as did Ben Keays (two votes) for his 25 touches and game-high eleven clearances.

Five other players received the perfect 10 votes across the competition including Western Bulldog Tim English, Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver, Greater Western Sydney midfielder Stephen Coniglio, Geelong’s Jeremy Cameron and Fremantle’s Lachie Schulz.

Carlton’s Patrick Cripps scored five votes in his side’s narrow win over Hawthorn to move into the outright lead after three rounds.
