PORT ADELAIDE could regain vice-captain Ollie Wines for Saturday’s Anzac Round game against West Coast with the Brownlow Medallist cleared to play.
Wines missed half of the club’s Round 4 game against Melbourne and the weekend’s narrow loss to Carlton after a spontaneous heart irregularity occurred, which has since resolved.
The 27-year-old has been cleared by doctors to return to full training and competition, so is expected to return to face the Eagles on Saturday evening.
Scans have cleared captain Tom Jonas of any significant damage to the right knee he hurt in a collision at the weekend, and he is also expected to play.
Xavier Duursma has been removed from the injury list and is available for selection following two weeks on the sidelines with neck and shoulder bruising, while two weeks on from ankle surgery, forward Charlie Dixon will resume running in the coming days as a timeline for his return to the field becomes clearer.
Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side to take on West Coast at Adelaide Oval from 4:05pm ACST on Saturday.
The club will wear a special Anzac Round guernsey, which will be auctioned off and all proceeds given to the RSL’s Anzac Appeal.
