PORT ADELAIDE midfielder/forward Connor Rozee has been nominated for the 2022 rebel AFL Goal of the Year for his powerful late goal in the loss to Richmond last Thursday.

Rozee’s effort came with five minutes to play and put Port Adelaide back within three points of the Tigers.

The 22-year-old was quick to respond to a marking contest, gathering a quick handpass from teammate Travis Boak before cutting inside an opponent, dancing past another and outpacing a third to the point of the 50-metre arc.

He then unloaded a low, flat shot that bounced just before the goal line and went through for a goal that was as important at the time as it was incredible.

Rozee’s teammate Kane Farrell was nominated for the Round 6 goal of the year but was overlooked as the weekly winner in the public voting.
