IN: Lee, McEntee, Saunders, Cheesman, Turner
OUT: Duursma, Lycett, Motlop, T. Burgoyne
PORT ADELAIDE has lost some AFL experience from its SANFL side for Saturday afternoon’s game against West Adelaide with Scott Lycett and Steven Motlop among those going out of the team.
Lycett made his return from a shoulder injury in last week’s loss to Woodville-West Torrens but won’t play this weekend after experiencing soreness and undergoing a minor procedure.
Motlop was one of the side’s best against the Eagles and has been called into the extended 26-man AFL side named on Thursday evening for Sunday’s meeting with Melbourne in Alice Springs.
Wingman Xavier Duursma has also been included in that extended squad, having recorded 20 disposals, six marks and four tackles in the SANFL last weekend.
Trent Burgoyne has also been omitted from an extended 24-man side.
Defender Jackson Lee has been named for the first time since suffering a knee injury in the last match-up against the Bloods in the Russell Ebert tribute match in Loxton, back in Round 7.
He’s been joined in the named side by Jed McEntee, who was an unused AFL medical sub last week, and SANFL contracted trio Callum Saunders, Ollie Cheesman and Aidan Turner.
Father-son prospect Harper Montgomery has retained his spot in the side after making his SANFL debut last week.
Any AFL emergency not required for Sunday’s clash with Melbourne in Alice Springs could drop back to play for the Magpies.
The game against the Bloods on Saturday gets underway at Hisense Stadium at Richmond at 2:10pm.
