PORT ADELAIDE has named Yasmin Duursma and Jade Halfpenny to make their AFLW debuts in Round 3.

Duursma and Halfpenny will become the Port Adelaide’s ninth and tenth AFLW debutantes in the side’s inaugural season.

Sister of Port Adelaide midfielder Xavier, Duursma was selected as the Power’s fifth pick at the NAB AFLW Draft, following a breakout performance at the under-18 national championships for Victoria Country.

The 18-year-old subsequently made the move to South Australia and has since been completing year 12 remotely, alongside her football commitments.

Tall forward Halfpenny impressed throughout the last SANFLW season, topping Norwood’s leaderboard for most disposals and being voted a member of the club’s leadership group.

The 20-year-old will grasp the opportunity with both hands, with outgoing injured forward Gemma Houghton creating space for Halfpenny as her replacement.

Defender Cheyenne Hammond will line up for her 25th AFLW game after spending the previous three seasons at the Gold Coast Suns.

Sarah Goodwin, Tessa Doumanis and Ella Boag have been named emergencies for Round 3, while Maggie MacLachlan has been omitted.

Sunday’s game gets under way at 11:40am ACST and will be shown live on 7mate and Fox Footy.
