YOUNG PORT fans (and their mums and dads) will know of Jack and Daisy as the Power Pirateers.
But we’ve got a real life Jack and Daisy.
Power member Sarah Galliford moved to London and works as a nanny for two young Britons – Jack and Daisy Houghton.
After some enthusiastic persuasion from Sarah, mother Sylvia signed her two children up as Port Adelaide members.
“Sarah had been pestering me for over a year once she realised Port Adelaide’s mascots were called Jack and Daisy,” Sylvia told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“She bought them a Power Pirateers book, which they love reading. As they are only three, they don’t particularly have a favourite sport, although Jack being a typical boy loves kicking and throwing a ball!
“I’m sure they’d love to meet Jack and Daisy in person one day.”
We’re pleased to report Sarah has done the right and proper Port Adelaide thing and decks the British Jack and Daisy out in their own Power gear over in the UK.
The Pirateer Zone is a popular location for Port Adelaide families on the south-eastern side of the Adelaide Oval at Power home games, with Footy Island based inside the Victor Richardson Gates.
