PORT ADELAIDE has made three changes to its side as vice-captain Ange Foley lines up for her 50th AFLW game this Sunday.

The resilient 33-year-old has returned to the field this season with energy and intent after an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in 2021 saw her sidelined for all of Season 6.

Foley has brought much-needed experience and consistency to the Port Adelaide wing, and has led by example both on and off the field.

Defender Cheyenne Hammond will replace Alex Ballard in Sunday’s clash, with Ballard entering concussion protocols following an incident against St Kilda last weekend.

Experienced forward Britt Perry and youngster Sachi Syme both return to the side, while Julia Teakle, Jade Halfpenny and Tessa Doumanis have been named emergencies.

Essendon is sitting 10th on the AFLW ladder with three wins – the most recent coming from defeating Sydney by four points in Round 8.

Port Adelaide is hoping to finish its inaugural AFLW season on a high, with Alberton Oval to host a sold-out crowd.

Sunday’s game begins at 12:40pm ACDT and will be shown live on 7mate, Fox Footy, Kayo and womens.afl.
