Skipper named in state squad
Steven Summerton has been named in the 31-man training squad for the SANFL state team.
Summerton has had a strong start to his season, often netting more than 30 touches a game and pushing forward to score goals and won the favour of selectors Stephen Rowe, Michael Godden (SA coach, WWT), Tony Bamford (South), Jarrod Cotton (Adelaide) and Matt Lokan (Glenelg).
Woodville-West Torrens had the most players selected (five) while both Port Adelaide and the Crows had one apiece.
The squad will train tonight and on May 20, 26 and 28 ahead of the final team training in Melbourne on May 30.
The SANFL plays the VFL at Port Melbourne Oval on Saturday 31 May.
