A large group of Port Adelaide’s AFLW list will participate in the SANFLW across the weekend for the first time this season.

Yasmin Duursma, Julia Teakle and Gemma Houghton will have their first tastes of SANFLW football since moving from interstate, while Olivia Levicki will play her first state league-level game since being signed by Port Adelaide as an AFLW rookie.

The action starts on Friday night at Coopers Stadium between Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens with Hannah Dunn, Ebony O’Dea, Sachi Syme and Jade Halfpenny up against Duursma.

Ruck Levicki will team up with Teakle at Central Districts, taking on twins Litonya and Laquoiya Cockatoo-Motlap at South Adelaide.

Sunday’s double-header will kick off with Houghton and Lily Johnson for West Adelaide up against Alex Ballard’s Sturt.

In the final match of the weekend, Glenelg’s Sarah Goodwin, Ella Boag and new recruit Matilda Scholz will take on reigning premiers North Adelaide, featuring young talents Amelie Borg and Hannah Ewings.

A handful of players assigned to SANFLW clubs will miss this round for various family or personal reasons, while Glenelg’s Maggie MacLachlan is expected to be out for the season after sustaining a stress fracture in her femur.
