PORT ADELAIDE players will wear black armbands in Friday night’s game against St Kilda in honour of long-serving football operations assistant Di Pounsett, who died this week.

Ms Pounsett joined the club upon its AFL entry in 1996, fulfilling a crucial role within the on-field operations as assistant to the General Manager of Football.

Awarded life membership of the Port Adelaide Football Club in 2011, she continued her role until recent weeks before she passed away on Tuesday following an illness.

She was 69 years-old.
