A CRUSHING loss to the Brisbane Lions after leading by two goals at three quarter time leaves Port Adelaide looking for one final win in season 2012.
End Game
Despite some good performances around the ground, Port Adelaide was unable to carry its three quarter time momentum into the final term at AAMI Stadium.
The Power kicked six goals after half time to overtake Brisbane and led by 13 points at the last change.
But the Lions came home with a four goal final term to take the points at the close.
The Power was unable to hold its marks inside 50 during the fourth quarter and with Brisbane kicking long down the line and efficiently rebounding from its defensive area, it was able to pile the majors on and put the game beyond doubt.

Analysis
A review of the stats sheet shows the Power led the game in disposals, was practically level in contested possessions, led the hit outs and clearances, and had more inside and rebound 50s than the Lions.
Losing a game when it prevailed in the key areas that it has trailed in this year is a bitter pill to swallow but the one positive coming from the game is that younger players like Chad Wingard and Aaron Young had standout games. Both 19-years-old, the pair kicked a goal apiece and impacted across the ground with Wingard having the third-highest possessions to three quarter time and Young finishing with 12.
Matthew Broadbent was the club’s highest goal kicker with three majors whilst Travis Boak proved damaging with 13 clearances, 9 tackles and 7 inside 50s - a standout performer for the Power in the wet conditions.
Next Game
Port Adelaide plays its final game for season 2012 against Richmond at the MCG on Sunday 2 September. It is a game where the Power will look to double its wins from last year and finish the season on a positive note. Richmond has had patchy form over the second half of the year so both teams will be playing for end of season pride when they meet at the home of football.
Injury list
Matthew Lobbe (hamstring) was the only reported injuries from the match but he will be tested ahead of the Power's final game against Richmond. Fellow ruckman Jarrad Redden will feature in the selection mix after playing for Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL with a 40 hit-out performance in a losing side.
