BLOGGER Craig McKay gives portadelaidefc.com.au his top five players each week during the season. He was at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night and saw Pittard, Wines, Trengove, Ryder and Gray as our best.

Macca’s Top Five
Jasper Pittard
Thought he was our best player by some way. Gave us great run from the backline, constantly tried to create something and whilst he made one or two mistakes, they were only through him trying to break the lines and get us moving the ball quickly into the forward line. Defensively he is almost unrecognisable from the last couple of years. Super strong one on one and was almost never beaten to the ball. One of his best games of AFL football.

Ollie Wines
Thought he was a monster around the ground. There are so many times where you think he shouldn't be able to win a contest but he just ends up with the ball. Played a great link up role through the middle and I thought did plenty of great work whilst on a flank as well. Our best midfielder on the night.

Jackson Trengove
The great man in his 100th game didn't disappoint. Beat both Pyke and Tippett on the night with plenty of great one on one work. His body work has improved over the last 18 months and his positioning to be able to work his opponents under the ball or get the spoil in is great. Loved how he hunted the ball tonight as well and won a lot of ground balls.

Paddy Ryder
We saw plenty of why we went after him in the off season. Led well, took some strong grabs and to end up with 2 goals was a fine result. We looked the best in the ruck whilst he was in there as well. If he can have this output every week, I think he's been well worth it as a recruit.

Robbie Gray
Super strong showing once again by Robbie. Won countless amounts of the footy and was our only mid to regularly win the ball at the stoppages. It’s great seeing him as a full time mid this year, though I do miss him up forward. Could have provided a spark up there when we needed it.
