PORT ADELAIDE’s Jed Hagan has been named the SANFL’s Round 8 Breakthrough Player.
The West Australian has been one of the club’s more consistent performers at the level, playing every game this season and averaging 15 disposals and five tackles.
He was among the best for the Magpies in Sunday’s narrow loss to Woodville-West Torrens playing across half-forward and on ball.
The 18-year-old collected 23 disposals and six clearances while also booting two goals against the Eagles.
Introduced in 2007, the Breakthrough Player is designed to recognise and reward the best emerging young talent in the Hostplus SANFL League.
To be eligible, players must be aged 23 and under as well as having played 10 Hostplus SANFL League games or less at the start of the year.
Hagan is in his first year at Port Adelaide, having arrived from WAFL club East Perth.
