PORT ADELAIDE will enter Round 16 in reasonable shape, with Xavier Duursma and Lachie Jones edging closer to a comeback.

The young duo is making positive progress and both players are expected to return to football within the next two weeks.

Duursma sustained a PCL (knee) injury in late April and will be tested this week during training, while Jones fractured his jaw in the Power’s Round 13 win over the Western Bulldogs.

Orazio Fantasia reported hamstring tightness during the final quarter of Port Adelaide’s SANFL match against Norwood.

The small forward will be assessed later in the week to determine his fitness for selection.

Young midfielder Hugh Jackson has exited concussion protocols after a head knock in Round 8 against Woodville-West Torrens.

The 20-year-old was playing outstanding football at state-league level prior to injury, and will be available this weekend.

Port Adelaide will name its selected side for Saturday’s match against Essendon at the MCG on Thursday evening at 5:50pm ACST.
