Fremantle’s dominance over Port Adelaide was apparent for most of the match despite Port winning many critical areas like clearances and tackles.
Matthew Lobbe contributed well to both areas with 43 hitouts and 15 tackles.
Port’s control at stoppages was no match for Fremantle’s ability to rebound the ball when it entered Port’s forward fifty with Port losing that area 33 to 23.
The Power’s ability to come back in the second half was on display again with Port scoring eight goals after half time.
Fremantle’s ball use was first class with a massive 72.6 per cent disposal efficiency which clearly showed why they are a top four side.
Several Port Adelaide players made valuable contributions to improve their team’s position including Robbie Gray who had 28 disposals, six marks, five tackles and a goal.
Kane Cornes and Jasper Pittard also found the footy throughout the night, collecting 29 and 23 disposals respectively and taking 15 marks between them.
