Mark offers a reason behind both the ordinary form and the outstanding form shown on Saturday night.

MARK WILLIAMS: It has been a brilliant rise from 12th to 2nd. We’re very happy to be in a position to give ourselves a chance to participate in the grand final and win a premiership. At this stage all we’re focused on is playing West Coast and playing as well as we can and if we play as well as we can we’ve got a chance of being in the preliminary final.---Gday Mark Firstly i would like just say what a fantastic job you have done with the boys to get them to their 4th Qualifying final in 7 years .. Were you concerned with Freo's ability to squash a 47 point lead mid way through the 2nd and bring it to just a 4 point lead at 3qtr time? All the best in September. Ron Ron
MARK WILLIAMS: Thank you very much, really appreciate your best wishes. As you saw with both West Coast and Hawthorn on the weekend, finishing off in Round 22 can be quite difficult when you’re near the top of the ladder as players do start to think about the weeks ahead. Being 40 points up with ten minutes to go in the second quarter, it said to me that the players put the cue in the rack and decided to play in a bit of protective mode. Given the circumstances at three quarter time, you saw our players at their best under pressure and having to produce. It was a great result for us.
---hi choco great win we have experienced players in the side and also a young group of kids playing in their first final. would there be a package of current and past football games highlights you would use for inspiration and also have you thought of having a motivational speaker, or dont you think they need one? A possible grand final would be motivation enough, dont you think?

MARK WILLIAMS: I agree with your analysis of our list. We do have some experienced players and they continually mentor the younger players and certainly at this time of the year they give them great assurance and confidence that they know the path to tread. Having said that the thrill and excitement of playing in finals has to be lived and we’re looking forward to the journey that the players take from now on. As for motivation, we’ll try a bit of everything but not too much. There will be some people speaking to them, there’ll be some video and we hope to get it right.---Hey Choco. Well done today. I was at the game and just the atmosphere was electric.. Taking the players over to the outer army really got them fired up. Why dont you do it more often??
Emma
MARK WILLIAMS: For me, the idea of it is to do it when we need something special. We don’t want it to become ho-hum, we do this all the time, so that the players can react in a positive manner each time you do it. As you said it was a brilliant atmosphere for us that were out on the oval at that time. We really appreciate what a big crowd can do and how they can respond and lift us to greater heights and get us over the line. Be there this week!---CHOCO’S PLAYER OF THE DAY: Shaun BurgoyneMARK WILLIAMS: I thought he was very good in the midfield, terrific clearances, and to kick four goals was outstanding. He played until the final siren and we look forward to his form continuing. You can win a $29 PrePay recharge voucher and $9.95 starter pack thanks to Vodafone, as well as a $50 Power Gear Shop voucher by predicting Choco’s player of the day.
