MEMBERS are the heart and soul of the Port Adelaide Football Club and we want to celebrate our members with a range of activities and giveaways at this Saturday’s first home game of the year against Carlton.
The club has chosen to bring forward its Members Recognition Round to this week’s clash against the Blues, starting at 4:40pm at Adelaide Oval.
While the pillars of Port Adelaide’s game-day experience will again feature - the March from the Mall, First goal of the game, team entry and Never Tear Us Apart – there will be plenty of other things to look forward to as well.
The club’s membership team will be choosing members from the crowd to receive a guernsey from our players on field at the end of the game, 20 lucky members will be on field during team entry, there will be a special game day roof climb experience and 30 members will get to be involved in the official guard of honour.
On top of all of that, we also have 25,000 flags to give away.
Port Adelaide Membership Manager, Ben Demertzis said it was all about thanking the True Believers for their support.
“Our members are the heart and soul of our football club, and they are at the core of everything we do,” he told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“We receive outstanding support everywhere we play across the country – our people are always loud, passionate and loyal, and no doubt will turn up this Saturday and get right behind the club in our first home game of the season.
“With 25,000 flags to give out, we are encouraging people to get to the ground early and grab a flag as they make their way to their seats.
“It’s going to look amazing – we can just see a sea of teal flags all around the stadium as our boys enter the ground.”
If seeing our boys tackle the Blues at the iconic Adelaide Oval to remain unbeaten for 2019 wasn’t reason enough to get excited for Round 2, it is also John Cahill Medallist Justin Westhoff’s 250th AFL game, and the first chance to celebrate Robbie Gray’s 200th at home.
So be there to grab your flag and a chance to win a range of special experiences - gates open at 2.30pm.
The club is continuing its push towards 60,000 members in 2019 with a range of membership options available including the new six-game membership and the three-game option because we know life is busy and people often can’t get to all eleven home games.
