PORT ADELAIDE will be forced into at least one change at selection for Saturday night’s Showdown LVI following the concussion suffered by forward Todd Marshall at the weekend.

Marshall was subbed out at half time of the narrow win over Melbourne last Saturday after a second-quarter collision in a marking contest.

The 25-year-old had only just returned to the side from a hip injury and was replacing Mitch Georgiades who is nursing a quad strain.

Georgiades could be in contention to return but will need to prove his fitness during the week.

If the selectors do opt for another tall forward option Ollie Lord and Tom Scully booted two and three goals respectively in the SANFL on Sunday.

Ryan Burton also spent some time forward for the Magpies in the win over Woodville-West Torrens, booting 1.2 from his 15 disposals and four marks. Burton was drafted as a forward, and though he has at times been thrown forward, usually operates off half back.

Will Lorenz (27 disposals, two goals, eight clearances and four tackles) did his chances of a second career AFL game no harm and Jed McEntee was also productive with 18 disposals and a goal to go with eight marks and four tackles.

Dante Visentini (29 hit-outs, five tackles) shared ruck duties with the returning Ivan Soldo (17 hit-outs, two tackles, four marks, three clearances) and both could come into consideration to play as a forward/second ruck option.

Hugh Jackson (29 disposals, eight clearances), Josh Sinn (16 disposals, one goal) and Dylan Williams (18 disposals, six marks) are others who caught the eye for the Magpies.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side for Saturday night’s game against the Crows.

That game gets underway at 7:00pm ACST.
