MITCH GEORGIADES will return to the Port Adelaide lineup for Ollie Wines’ 250th AFL game this Sunday.
Wines will mark a significant milestone, reaching his 250th game at the top level, with friends and family making the journey across to Perth to celebrate.
Drafted by Port Adelaide at pick seven in 2012, the midfield bull has achieved plenty of individual success including a Brownlow Medal in 2021, a John Cahill Medal and an All-Australian blazer.
The 29-year-old also co-captained Port Adelaide in 2019 and won three Gavin Wanganeen Medals, awarded to the club’s best performing AFL player under the age of 21.
Georgiades has recovered from a quad strain that forced him to miss the last two games, while Quinton Narkle (omitted) and Dan Houston (suspended) both come out of the side.
Todd Marshall is progressing through concussion protocols as expected, however out of an abundance of caution, the medical team has opted to give Marshall an extra week of rest and recovery.
Josh Sinn, Ollie Lord, Dante Visentini and Jed McEntee have also been added to the preliminary side, with all four players named on the extended bench.
The 26-player squad will be reduced to 23 on Friday afternoon, with the tactical substitute to be chosen from the interchange and announced one hour before the bounce.
The last time the two sides met was in Round 5, with the Power securing a thrilling three-point win at Adelaide Oval.
Sunday’s game against the Dockers will take place at Optus Stadium from 4:10pm AWST / 5:40pm ACST.
