PORT ADELAIDE has named three debutants for Saturday’s AFLW season-opening Showdown at Alberton Oval with highly talented trio Molly Brooksby, Shineah Goody and Piper Window included in the side for the first time.
Brooksby has been named at half back, Goody on the wing and Window on the interchange.
Off-season recruits Kirsty Lamb (previously at the Western Bulldogs), Teagan Germech (Greater Western Sydney) and Caitlin Wendland (Brisbane) will also each make their club debuts.
Experienced forward Ashleigh Saint will reach her 50th AFLW game milestone, coincidentally against her former club.
Captain Janelle Cuthbertson, fellow experienced defender Ange Foley and midfielder Abbey Dowrick have all been named after each missing the pre-season matches against Adelaide and Melbourne with finger injuries.
Port Adelaide’s side will wear the club’s iconic prison bar guernsey against the Crows on Saturday night in a landmark moment.
Gates at Alberton Oval open at 5:45pm with the first bounce at 7:15pm.
Tickets remain available for purchase and more information about the game is available at our AFLW Game Day Hub.
If you can’t make the game, you can watch it live on Fox Footy and Kayo, or you can tune in on radio on FIVEaa or ABC Grandstand.
