IT may have taken him eight seasons within the AFL system, but Michael Pettigrew is set to crack the 100 game mark this weekend against West Coast in his home state of Western Australia.

One of the best things about this is that he'll forever have his name on the #36 locker at Alberton - a fine achievement for any player.

Recruited from West Perth with the 46th overall pick in the 2003 NAB National Draft, Pettigrew immediately made his debut for the Power in Round 1 of the 2004 season against Essendon at AAMI Stadium.

He was the 73rd Power player to appear in the AFL, and in his debut season played a mere 2 games, playing in the first and second games of the year.

In 2005 and 2006 he showed real promise, playing in 13 and 16 games respectively.

He really began to emerge as a key defender of enormous promise in 2007, playing in all 25 games for the year, including the Grand Final against Geelong.

His 2008 season saw him continue to show good form, playing in the first 20 games of the year before missing the last two of the home and away season.

2009 saw him play 14 games and he seemed to be set to become a regular player in the Power side.

His 2010 season was ruined by injury, with Petters only able to play in the one game for the year, playing in the final round of the season against Richmond.

Since Round 4 of 2011 he has been a regular in the Power side once more, playing every game since he returned to the senior side.

He's even featured on the highlights reel this year, taking a mark that had the commentators flabbergasted in Round 8 vs Sydney - watch it above now!
