Peter Jackson Player of the Week
Ben Sawford
By far his best performance with the Maggies at League level. Was in everything from winning clearance to hitting the scoreboard.
Player Reviews
Tom Gray
Continues to play because he is very compliant and will play 'team' all the way. His next step is finding a few more touches around the ground.
Johann Wagner
Just want to see him compete consistently across four quarters, bring heat to the opposition and use his running weapons to get more possession.
Steven Summerton
Stood up when the chips were down and the game was going against us. Continues to build on his game with good balance of inside and outside ball. Great captain's goal at the end.
Dougal Howard
Like last week, he took a couple of quarters to reach his potential as a player. Needs to be physical from the start but looked very steady when defending for us.
Tom Logan
Took a quarter and a bit to get going, but once he found his mojo he was super for us. Strong aggressive defending and saved us through great effort at the contest.
Sid Masters
Consistency is his Achilles heel at the moment, must stay locked into the target for longer periods.
Sam Russell
Had a different role this week going into the game, but we did require to change that quickly, as we needed him to plug another position for us. Not his best game but has been consistent for a while now.
Aaron Young
Very solid contribution to the game and team across four quarters. Great stoppage compliance and workrate as well as having an impact forward at times.
Karl Amon
Started the game down back and was OK. Again, he must be consistent with effort and physicality every time he goes to a contest.
Paul Stewart
Solid performance form Stewy after returning from injury. Kicked two really important goals in the back half to help us win back the game.
Tom Clurey
Was well beaten by Alleway at half time, but we like the fact Tommy stuck at his role, did not concede any more scores and looked to be more aggressive in the contest.
Andrew Moore
Very strong performance until going off with a foot injury.
Louis Sharrad
Very good performance and it was his toughness and work rate that got us back into the contest and perhaps over the line in the end.
Billy Frampton
Started extremely well up forward and really challenged his opponent. Limited ruck time with Lobbe playing for the team.
Jesse Palmer
An OK game for Jesse as he still needs to bring a four-quarter effort. We were happy with his ability to hold good shape for us, but as a forward he needs to really ramp up the defensive actions.
Mitch Harvey
Did not provide the contest needed over four quarters. Mitch must also challenge his opponent more when he gets good opportunity to do so.
Matthew Lobbe
Well, Matty's great attitude resulted in a great performance. Was very dominant in and around stoppages as well as getting his own possession around the ground.
Darcy Byrne-Jones
Must find his aggressive impact on opponent and contests as well as hurt the opposition with his disposal.
Jack Haarsma
Very similar to Tom Gray, Jack is just prepared to do the team thing rather than look for possessions. Showed great workrate and composure late in the game to put us in front.
Sean Davidson
Made his League debut on the back of really good form for the Academy team. Solid performance first up but just needs to control his opponent more at times. Showed he is very capable at the level.
