Injury Update: Stewart likely to be cleared
Paul Stewart is likely to be given the all clear this week after missing last weekend's match with a corked knee
It leaves just Paul Stewart, who was left out of Port Adelaide’s Round 4 team after being adjudged unable to sufficiently rehabilitate from a corked knee sustained against the Crows, and Brett Ebert as the only players still listed as injured.
But Stewart is expected to be assessed – and cleared – by fitness staff this week.
Director of coaching and strategy Alan Richardson told portadelaidefc.com.au Stewart was likely to be given the green light to play this weekend barring “any unforseen circumstances” at training this week.
Ebert’s recovery from adductor surgery is progressing on schedule and is now a four to six week return prospect.
It is good news for Port Adelaide ahead of this weekend’s testing fixture against the West Coast Eagles at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.
Selectors will have a full fit squad to select from, with several SANFL players pressing hard to be named in the club’s senior side.
