UP AND COMING stars from around the SANFL came together to represent Port Adelaide and Adelaide in a Statewide Super Women’s Exhibition game at Alberton Oval on Sunday.
Players from West Adelaide, Norwood, South Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens donned the Power guernsey and comfortably took care of the Crows line up who had representatives from Sturt, North Adelaide, Glenelg and Central District.
The Port side gelled together nicely and were able to move the ball really smoothly led by talented midfielders Cheyenne Hammond, Czenya Cavouras and Najwa Allen to win by 36 points.
The Power dominated from the outset and kicked four goals in quick succession to lead by 27 points at quarter time with Bella Smith kicking the first goal and Hammond gathering seven first term disposals.
After not seeing much off the ball in the first quarter, the Crows forwards managed to work their way into the game as Adelaide began to win some contests through the midfield.
The Crows kicked their first goal of the game early in the second quarter, but Port’s midfielders Najwa Allen and Czenya Cavouras stood up and began to move the ball back its own way.
West Adelaide’s Maddi Newman kicked the lone goal for the Power during the second quarter who led by 22 points at half time.

Hammond had a quiet second term but popped up to send a long ball towards the goalsquare, which snuck over the pack and rolled through for a major score.
Port showed its aerial skills during the third quarter with Cavouras and Teah Chalton pulling down strong contested marks as the Power began to dominate the possession and inside 50 stats again to lead by 30 points at the last break.
Port kicked the first goal of the final quarter before the game was unfortunately cut short following a nasty injury to Adelaide’s Katelyn Rosenweig.
The Power kept the Crows scoreless for three quarters and Allen finished with 21 disposals, while Hammond, Newman and Kiana Lee each kicked two goals.
Port won the two-game series 2-0 after it claimed a three-point victory in game one earlier this month.
