TRAVIS BOAK will lead Port Adelaide when it comes up against Adelaide in Saturday night’s Showdown.
Boak was the club’s longest serving captain in the AFL when he stepped down from the role at the end of 2018.
The 2011 club champion has previously skippered the side in 137 games, and General Manager – Football, Chris Davies says in the absence of injured co-captains Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas and vice-captain Hamish Hartlett, Boak will take on the leadership role.
“In the absence of our existing leaders, Travis with his experience in the role is the obvious choice.
“Even since giving up the captaincy, he has remained a leader within the group.
“He will remain in the role for as long as required.”
The Power faces the Crows at Adelaide Oval from 7:10pm on Saturday.
