PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Jake Patmore will have surgery on his left knee after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament on Friday night.

Patmore landed awkwardly after taking a mark in the second quarter of the club’s SANFL trial game against South Adelaide at Noarlunga.

General Manager – Football, Chris Davies said the 20-year-old had the injury assessed on Saturday, confirming he would require a knee reconstruction.

“This is a terrible blow for Jake, who had been developing well after his second pre-season,” he said.

“But we know he is a resilient young man and everyone at the club will support him through his rehabilitation.”

Port Adelaide selected Patmore from Claremont in Western Australia with pick 58 at the 2017 National Draft.
