PORT ADELAIDE faces Fremantle at Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday afternoon.

Port is coming off a huge 70-point win over St Kilda in Shanghai in Round 11, followed by the bye, while the Dockers won their previous two games with the last kick of the game, before also having the Round 12 bye.

Both teams have been a little inconsistent in 2019, with the Power not winning consecutive games since Round 6.

The Power (eighth) and the Dockers (ninth) both have a 6-5 record at the halfway point of the season, which makes this game a really important contest for both sides.

Last season, Ross Lyon’s men won a dour struggle by nine points at Optus Stadium to halt Port’s momentum heading into the business end of the year.

The Power led the contest by two points heading into the main break, after both sides managed a combined three goals in slippery conditions.

The Dockers were able to grab the ascendency in the second half, kicking four goals to two in the third quarter to set up the victory.

Lachie Neale was a prolific ball-winner for the home side, collecting 33 touches, while David Mundy (29), Ed Langdon (28) and Luke Ryan (28) were also very good.

Ollie Wines (30 disposals, seven tackles) was the best for Ken Hinkley’s men.

In the previous five meetings between the Power and Dockers, it has been the home side who has prevailed - a stat Port Adelaide will be looking to reverse this weekend.

In the 35 meetings between the two clubs, Port hold a slender 19-16 head-to-head record, with the Power winning three of the last five games.
