SCOTT LYCETT and Hamish Hartlett were the only two Port Adelaide players to register votes in this week’s Shadforth AFLCA Champion of the Year Award.
Lycett backed up his best-on-ground performance against Geelong a week earlier, with another strong showing against the Bulldogs, which earned him two votes from the coaches.
Marcus Bontempelli (9 votes) was adjudged best afield for his 27-possession (18 contested), 10-tackle game against the Power, while Jack Macrae’s 36 disposals (20 contested) and a goal saw him strongly recognised.
Hamish Hartlett received one vote for his 29 touches, seven marks, seven rebound 50s and six inside 50s, in his third game back from an extended stint on the sidelines.
There were only two players who received maximum votes from the coaches in Round 15, with West Coast’s Luke Shuey and Greater Western Sydney’s Zach Williams each polling 10 votes.
Geelong’s Tim Kelly extended his lead at the top of the table, while North Melbourne’s Ben Cunnington jumped up to second in the standings, after another nine votes against Collingwood.
Travis Boak is still in the top five, with 58 votes from the opening 15 rounds.
