PORT ADELAIDE Next Generation Academy (NGA) members Taj Schofield, Lachlan Jones and Jase Burgoyne have helped Woodville-West Torrens to the Under-18 Torrens University Cup Premiership.
The Eagles defended their 2018 Premiership win with a 23-point win over South Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
In 2019, the Alan Stewart Medal for best on ground went to Michael Frederick, the twin brother of Power rookie Martin Frederick
Michael finished with 20 disposals and an important goal from a 50-metre set shot.
Schofield, the son of 2004 premiership player and current Power midfield coach Jarrod Schofield, had 18 touches while Burgoyne, the son of 2004 premiership player Peter Burgoyne, had 13.
Lachlan Jones was strong in defence and also had 18 disposals.
Schofield and Burgoyne are each eligible to be drafted by Port Adelaide as father-son recruits in the 2020 AFL draft, while Jones can also be considered in the same draft.
Last year’s Eagles premiership win featured Port Adelaide NGA members Jackson Mead, Kai Pudney and Martin Frederick, with Mead named best on ground and Pudney and Frederick since being rookie listed by the Power
