VETERAN St Kilda forward Stephen Milne has dominated the Saints final intra-club practice match prior to this weekend’s NAB Cup opener at AAMI Stadium against Port Adelaide and the Crows.

According to saints.com.au Milne, 32, kicked four majors and provided ample assistance in several others for his team in the Saints’ Friday night match at Seaford, south-east of Melbourne.

Former Port Adelaide SANFL star Terry Milera booted three goals alongside Ahmed Saad with two.

Post-match St Kilda senior coach Scott Watters said Milne will be rested in some NAB Cup games, potentially the Saints’ 5.15pm clash with the Power on Sunday.

"Up until Christmas his program was modified, so his workload has increased since Christmas, but he's in a real work phase at the moment,” said Watters.

"He does thrive on hard work, and has his whole career.

"He was pretty lively out there today."

It would appear the St Kilda football program is, like many clubs, managing the load on senior players leading into the season proper.

Saints ruckman Ben McEvoy left the ground partway through the match, while Lenny Hayes, Nick Riewoldt, Sean Dempster and Adam Schneider did not participate.
