PORT Adelaide back up last week's season opening win with a narrow victory on the road against West Coast.

The Power hung on against the Roos in round one despite fading in the second half, but banished those demons by storming over the top of the Eagles, winning 13.11 (89) to 12.14 (86) at Subiaco.

West Coast went into the last change up by 13 points after keeping Port goalless in the third quarter.

But the visitors struck back with six goals to three in the final term - four of them to mature-age Geelong recruit Jason Davenport.
