WESTERN BULLDOGS Jack Macrae has retained his spot at the top of the AFL Fantasy leaderboard with another high scoring performance, despite his side being comprehensively beaten by Adelaide.

The 23-year-old scored a massive 145 fantasy points, just less than the 155 he tallied last week but still less than Sydney’s Jake Lloyd (163), West Coast’s Jack Darling (151) and Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell (149).

He had 36 disposals, two marks and an incredible 13 tackles in the Bulldogs’ 37-point loss to the Crows.

Macrae’s value has skyrocketed to $885,000 – a $153,000 rise since the start of the season - making him the most expensive player in the competition.

He is also averaging 131.2 points per game.

Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell has regained second spot overall while Carlton’s Ed Curnow’s suspension has seen him drop from second to eleventh.

Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak was his side’s best scorer for the first time this season with his 113 points in a game that earned him the Shanghai Medal as best on ground, while Justin Westhoff remains the club’s highest overall scorer.

Tom Rockliff (mid/fwd $545,000)

We said it last week and we will remind you again, Rockliff is ready to return to his AFL Fantasy best.

Having lost $199,000 from his pre-season value due to form and fitness issues, he has passed 100 points for two games in a row and regained $19,000 of the value he lost.

In Shanghai he managed 26 touches, two marks, seven tackles and a goal.

On a low scoring day in tricky conditions that’s pretty useful.

In fewer than 4000 AFL Fantasy teams last week, he is now in 11,103 so coaches are realising his potential value.

Darcy Byrne-Jones (def - $556,000)

Averaging 80.9 points per round, Byrne-Jones again surpassed it with 106 against the Gold Coast – the highest score of his career.

In fact he was one of just four Port Adelaide players to crack 100 points.

In his last five games Byrne-Jones has averaged 96.4 points, which is pretty good for a defender.

Against the Suns he had 26 disposals, five marks and four tackles in trying conditions.

The 22-year-old is in 1067 AFL Fantasy teams but his form line is tracking in the right direction to see him picked in more.

Sam Powell-Pepper (mid - $508,000)

The 20-year-old had an enforced early season break through suspension but has come back better than before in his last two games.

Averaging 80 points per game in 2018, he had 87 against Adelaide and 109 against Gold Coast, Powell-Pepper is due a big value increase if he can maintain his form after the bye against Hawthorn.

Against the Suns in Shanghai, he had career-highs for kicks (16), disposals (26) and goals (2) as well as season highs for tackles (10) and AFL Fantasy points (109)

At just over $500,000 he is good value for a guy who is showing form that looks to be on the up, and is only in 1882 AFL Fantasy teams.

He is also good value in terms of points per dollar spent. At $6350 per point, he is the fourth cheapest at the club and the cheapest of those who played on Saturday.

Justin Westhoff (mid/fwd - $678,000)

He hardly starred on Saturday but the ever-reliable Westhoff had 78 points – well down on his 101.1-point average this season.

Throughout his career the veteran has averaged 79.2 AFL Fantasy points so he wasn’t far off that on a gloomy day in Shanghai.

His 16 possessions, two marks and five tackles was his second worst return for the season and it saw his value drop by $8,000.

The good news is that the cult figure is so versatile and dependable that he is likely to bounce back.

He is continuing to rise in popularity amongst AFL Fantasy coaches as well and is no win 13712 teams – nearly 800 more than last week.

Travis Boak (mid/fwd - $617,000)

Boak has been in good form of late and has been spending a bit more time on the ball to go with stints in the forward line.

The captain had 29 disposals, five marks, six tackles and a goal in his best on ground performance and tallied a season-high 113 points.

Averaging 90.3 this season, he has scored an average of 98 in his past five games.

His recent form has seen his move to fourth in the club’s overall scoring, although he is in only 2705 AFL Fantasy teams.
