THE TEMPERATURE outside is dropping, so this story is going to warm your heart.

Eddy Cornes, eldest son of 300-gamer Kane, has just started coaching.

Being no longer able to play footy owing to heart defects at birth isn't going to stop him being involved in the game he loves.

Recently, he's taken on an assistant coaching role for his youngest brother's Brighton Bombers Under-8 team.

What a legend!

And he's getting some pretty decent mentorship too - from none other than Port Adelaide's SANFL coach, his uncle Chad.

"Eddy started coaching the Brighton Bombers Under-8s, which is Sonny's team," Kane told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"And Chad's been mentoring him as well, so Eddy's been around the group at half-time and in the post game, getting behind the scenes and seeing how coaches go about it.

"He's really enthusiastic about coaching and it's great to see him getting involved."

Good luck, Eddy!
