PORT ADELAIDE and Brisbane players have had to share the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award votes from Saturday’s match between the sides.

Three players from Port Adelaide and three Lions were given votes.

The Power’s Jared Polec was given eight out of a maximum ten votes from the coaches after being influential in the narrow victory.

As well as claiming a match-saving goal-line mark, Polec had 29 disposals, 12 marks, three tackles, two clearances and three goal assists.

Sam Gray, who booted three vital goals for Port was given seven votes after his 21 disposal effort, while Hamish Hartlett attracted four votes after racking up 26 disposals at 89 per cent efficiency to go with four inside 50s and nine marks.

Brisbane ruckman Stefan Martin got nine votes after dominating across the ground and leading all comers with 30 possessions and 49 hit-outs.

Lions' Darcy Gardiner and Dayne Zorko each polled one vote.

Martin’s nine votes takes him to seventh overall with 15 in total.

Port Adelaide’s best is vice-captain Ollie Wines on 10 votes.

Trent Cotchin (Richmond), Nat Fyfe (Fremantle), Max Gawn (Melbourne), Bryce Gibbs (Adelaide), Lachie Hunter (Western Bulldogs) and Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood) all received the maximum ten votes from the AFL coaches in Round 3.

Hawthorn ball magnet Tom Mitchell polled six votes on the weekend, taking him to 26 in total, but it was enough to see him retain the outright lead from Adelaide’s Rory Laird on 23 votes.
