WITH just three games left in the minor round, we take a look at the form line of Port Adelaide's final home-and-away season opponents, with some big clashes beckoning (don't forget to buy your tickets!).
Power's form: WLWLW
Current ranking: 6
Percentage: 123.2
Premiership points: 48
Round 22 v Western Bulldogs
Saturday 19 August, Mars Stadium Ballarat, 1.45pm AEST
Bulldogs' form: WWWWL
Current ranking: 9
Percentage: 98.3
Premiership points: 40
Who they played before this game: GWS
A loss to the Giants has the Bulldogs on the back foot, sitting ninth on percentage and needing to find wins in order to push into the eight. They'll be hungry this weekend at Ballarat and Port stands in their way of playing finals footy. Equally, the Power need to keep winning to achieve either of two outcomes: claim a top four place in the event any of the current four capitulate and drop out of the double-chance zone, or simply to retain a stake in a home elimination final.
None of the teams ranked 4-8 are guaranteed finals either, so the simplest way to feature in September is to chalk up wins in the rest of August.
Round 23 v Gold Coast
Adelaide Oval, Saturday 26 August, 7.10pm ACST
Suns' form: LLLLL
Current ranking: 15
Percentage: 80.5
Premiership points: 24
Who they play before this game: Essendon
Having lost to the Lions and led by an interim coach, the Suns are playing for pride. This makes them a dangerous prospect with two games left in the season. The Dons will be playing to secure a finals berth this weekend and the Power obviously have so many variables at play - Gold Coast will be hoping to spoil for both.
