STAKING a strong claim to be Australia’s favourite home-grown stage magician, Matt Tarrant is back at the Adelaide Fringe with Honestly Dishonest, and he’s giving Port fans every reason to go along this year.
The Port Adelaide ambassador has made no secret of his passion for the Power, over five years he’s variously stood in the outer cheering the team on, been prolific in his support on social media, performed at club events and, perhaps most notably, worn a Port singlet on the most recent season of Australian Survivor.
He described that experience as his biggest physical and mental challenge, so performing his award-winning show at the Adelaide Fringe must seem like a walk in the park.
If in doubt of the quality of Tarrant’s show, Honestly Dishonest, one need only look back at the accolades he’s bagged over half a decade at the Adelaide Fringe.
He has taken out the last five consecutive best-in-event awards as voted by Fringegoers.
“Honestly Dishonest was created as my ode to magic, but we’ve removed all the top hats, dancing girls and rabbits to create a new style of magic show that really connects with today’s audiences –this is the future of magic” says Tarrant.
“I wanted to bring world-class magic to the Adelaide Fringe and some of the new routines in Honestly Dishonest will be seen for the very first time anywhere around the world.
“I can’t wait to amaze and bring a little more magic to Adelaide.”
