PORT ADELAIDE will work with the Government of South Australia to provide transition opportunities for state automotive supply-chain workers, it has been announced.
The Automotive Works in Transition program – or Drive Your Future – provides career advice, skills recognition, training for new jobs and advice on small business creation for those workers affected by the end of automotive manufacturing in South Australia.
Partners and spouses of eligible works can also access career advice and transition services.
Port Adelaide will conduct a Family Day and Financial Planning Session for those participating in the program on 13 August before the Power clashes with Collingwood, where club chairman David Koch will deliver a financial planning seminar.
The club - through its community development arm Power Community Ltd - will also deliver its acclaimed Wellbeing and Resilience and Power to be Positive programs to workers from four affected supply-chain businesses and children of affected worker families in five northern and southern suburbs schools.
