PORT Adelaide skipper Travis Boak is confident the Power can quickly develop team chemistry at the start of next season despite having a major overhaul of its playing list.

The Power have been the busiest club in the off-season with a raft of changes, bringing in free agents Tom Rockliff and Steven Motlop, along with former No.1 draft pick Jack Watts from Melbourne.

They also secured Gold Coast defender Trent McKenzie and ex-Melbourne co-captain Jack Trengove as delisted free agents, while they have also been linked to North Melbourne veteran Lindsay Thomas, who could be added in the rookie draft.

Eleven players have gone the other way, including utility Jackson Trengove (Western Bulldogs), forward/defender Jarman Impey (Hawthorn), Brendon Ah Chee (West Coast), Aaron Young (Suns), Matthew Lobbe (Carlton) and Angus Monfries (retired).

Boak believes the Power will be able to integrate the new faces into the line-up during the pre-season and the shortened JLT Community Series, ahead of the season proper.

"We'll do a whole pre-season together and they'll fit straight into our plan and what we stand for," Boak said.

"They're really excited to get into the group and train and get used to playing with our guys, so I don't think it will take too long at all.

"They're really good people and really good players."

Boak was involved in the Power's pitch to its new players, catching up with Rockliff in Queensland before the Brisbane Lions star decided to move to Alberton.

"I didn't have to sell it too much," Boak said.

"We've known each other for a few years and we played International Rules together.

"I just spoke about what the club means to our players and what we have going for us, and it's exciting to have him in the group."

Boak said the additions of Trengove and McKenzie were important given the Power lost plenty of experience with the players who left the club.

"It just adds a bit more depth to our group as well," he said.

"We've had 11 changes in our list.

"To add those guys with a bit of experience and the quality they bring is great.

"Trengove being an ex-captain and leader as well, hopefully he can get his body right and have a bit of a crack at it because he's a quality player and a quality person."

Boak is involved in the Virgin Australia International Rules Series, with Australia aiming to complete a clean sweep in the second Test in Perth on Saturday night.

The Power's first-to-fourth year players return to training next Monday, while the rest of the group resumes on November 27.

"We've put a pretty good list together, now we've got to go to work and hopefully get something special," Boak said.
