UNLUCKY Port Adelaide defender Jack Hombsch will begin talks with the Power about a contract extension.
The 23-year-old key back didn't play after round 10 last season with a series of injuries ending his campaign prematurely.
Third in the Power's best and fairest in 2015, Hombsch, who is off contract at the end of this year, said he had no intention of leaving the club.
"My manager and club are going through that, they will start that (soon)," Hombsch told AFL.com.au.
"I've got no issues whatsoever - I love Port Adelaide and I'm an Adelaide boy and I'm not looking to go anywhere or change anything up, so that will get done in due time.
"All I can do is put my head down and look after my hip and my body and try and get back to staying fit and stringing a full season together.
"That stuff generally takes care of itself at the start of the year hopefully."
The Sturt product was one of Greater Western Sydney's under-age recruits and played nine games for the Giants in their inaugural season in 2012 before he was traded to the Power.
Hombsch played 52 consecutive games before he injured his hamstring in the Power's win against Melbourne in Alice Springs last year.
He was due to return in the round 15 clash with Richmond at Adelaide Oval, but suffered a quad strain during training in the days leading up to the game.
"It was shattering," Hombsch said.
"We hadn't had such a great year up to that point.
"Personally, I wasn't too happy with my form and it wasn't where I wanted it to be and I was keen to come back and have a strong end to the year."
With the Power's finals hopes all but gone late in the year, Hombsch underwent surgery to his right hip to give him a kick-start into next season.
He's now had surgery to both hips after having the left one done in 2015.
"Fingers crossed it's the last one I need to do now," he said.
"I've had both hips done over the last couple years and had the arthroscopy and cleaned a bit of floating bone out and trimmed up some of the cartilage, a pretty stock standard operation for a footballer.
"It was giving me a bit of grief, but it's all cleaned up and there's a lot of mobility."
Hombsch has returned to full training and is on track for the JLT Community Series.
He was a part of the club's leadership group last season in a sign of his importance to the playing group.
The Power have missed the finals in the past two seasons after playing some great football in 2013-14.
"For whatever reason, we haven't been able to put the pieces of the puzzle together," Hombsch said.
"The success we had early surprised us …. we got a little bit confused and things didn't go our way at stages.
"It's the same core group and we're confident we can turn things around."
