The AFL Players Association has released Port Adelaide’s nominees for the 2019 MVP Award.
The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-step process, with players nominating three of their teammates for the MVP, and one each for the Most Courageous and Best First Year awards.
Travis Boak, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Tom Clurey are the three Port Adelaide players nominated for the 2019 MVP.
Byrne-Jones has also been nominated for the Most Courageous Award, while Connor Rozee will be vying for the Best First Year player. Players will also vote for the league’s best captain.
In the second phase of the process, each club’s three nominees are presented to the wider playing group, who will decide the winners. Players cannot vote for a teammate in this phase.
The 2019 AFLPA MVP Awards will take place on Thursday 29 August.
MVP: Travis Boak, Darcy Byrne-Jones, Tom Clurey
