portadelaidefc.com.au checks out who's in the mix for both sides this week.
PORT ADELAIDE
WITH CHARLIE DIXON a confirmed scratching from Sunday’s game against the GWS Giants, Port Adelaide is almost certain to welcome back Brad Ebert from the bruised lung that ended his consecutive games streak last weekend.
Ebert had missed the victory over the Kangaroos after suffering the injury against Hawthorn.
Port is taking no chances with injured players, and Dixon will be given every opportunity to recuperate from the ankle sprain he suffered against North last Saturday in Melbourne.
While his forced omission leaves the door open for an Ebert return, the Power may look to face the Giants with three talls and bring the in-form John Butcher into the side after weeks of consistent performance in the SANFL.
However, such a move would require another omission, which may be unlikely given the Power’s compelling team win over the Kangaroos.
Jared Polec was also a standout for the Magpies in last week's win and will be pushing his claim for a recall.
Port Adelaide plays the GWS Giants at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday 24 July at 4.10pm.
