PORT ADELAIDE hosts Fremantle in the final home-and-away round of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Both Port and Fremantle are coming off disappointing losses in Round 22, with the Power going down to North Melbourne by 86 points and the Dockers losing to Essendon by 32 points at Optus Stadium.
The Power will need to beat the Dockers on Sunday and rely on other results to go their way if they are to play finals in 2019, while Fremantle are two games outside of the eight.
When the two sides met in Round 13 this year, it was Fremantle - led by Michael Walters - who were too strong for Port Adelaide in Perth.
The game was evenly balanced throughout the first half, with Port kicking five goals to three in the opening quarter, before Freo responded with five of their own in the second term.
Port then hit the front by one point at the final change, but three unanswered goals to the home side in the fourth quarter was enough for Fremantle to run out 21-point victors.
Walters was brilliant for the Dockers, kicking six goals and having 25 touches to be the difference between the two sides.
Brandon Matera and Jesse Hogan each kicked three goals, while small forward Kane Farrell kicked four majors to be the most influential forward for the Power.
Nat Fyfe was dominant with 37 touches, while Bradley Hill had 30 of his own. Travis Boak was once again very good for Port collecting 36 disposals.
Overall, the Power hold a 19-17 head-to-head record over the Dockers, and have won all four encounters between the two sides at Adelaide Oval.
Sunday’s clash at Adelaide Oval begins at 4.10pm ACST.
