STELLA Motley, granddaughter of nine-time SANFL premiership player and Magarey Medallist Geof, will open proceedings for Port Adelaide's home game against the Western Bulldogs this afternoon.
The five-year-old is the daughter of Peter Motley, the elite Carlton and Sturt footballer, who will be on the field on Saturday afternoon.
Geof Motley is one of South Australian football's living legends: a nine-time premiership player and the captain-coach of Port Adelaide's record breaking 1959 premiership, he won four best-and-fairests for Port as well as the 1964 Magarey Medal.
Famously, he was never reported - or dropped - once in his 268-game career.
The first goal of the game will take place at approximately 12.40pm at the Riverbank End of the Adelaide Oval, just next to the Geof Motley Race.
