FIVE of Port Adelaide’s eight departed players from 2015 have made their way to new footy homes this year.

Two have taken up coaching positions in the SANFL while two will continue their playing careers in the South Australian state league.

Kane Cornes will be an assistant coach at Glenelg, returning to the club where the Cornes name was first made famous by his father Graham during the 1970s and 1980s.

Tom Logan will be acting as an assistant coach to Mark Clayton in Port Adelaide’s Academy team, and will double as a runner for the Magpies league team.

Mitch Harvey and Jarrad Redden have made their way back to their original SANFL clubs for the 2015 season.

Harvey returns to North Adelaide where he will re-join new Roosters coach Josh Carr, who moved to Prospect after four years as a Power assistant.

Redden heads down Port Road to Woodville-West Torrens.

Similarly, key position forward Mason Shaw has returned to Western Australia where he will play for South Fremantle – the junior club from which he was recruited at the end of 2012.

Former rookie Sam Russell will continue his career with Carlton’s VFL affiliate - the Northern Blues - while portadelaidefc.com.au hasn't been able to dig up what Johann Wagner's plans for 2016 are (although we're not sure whether his Twitter bio suggests he'll head home to Port Lincoln).

One-time international rookie Daniel Flynn played for Kildare in the Irish Gaelic Football Association after returning to his home country at the start of 2015.
