ZAC Hawkins has won the SANFL’s Star Search Award for Round 7 following a sterling first game back following his reappointment to the club’s league contract list.
Hawkins had 22 disposals, 5 tackles and 5 marks in last Saturday’s win over West Adelaide, in what was his first game for the Magpies since 2015.
The Magpies have also enjoyed a significant influx of talent into the state under-20 side, with Jack Cooper, Sid Masters, Keanu Miller, Levi Proude and Kieran Agius selected in the team to play against the state under-18s.
Port Adelaide has the equal-most representation in the squad with West Adelaide, Sturt, Woodville-West Torrens, North Adelaide and Central District.
The state underage teams will play their curtain-raiser to the SANFL-VFL clash on Sunday 29 May.
